On the morning of November 16, 2023, two 45 MPa diaphragm compressors for helium gas sources passed the factory assessment at Zhong Ding Heng Sheng Gas Equipment (Wuhu) Co., Ltd.
This time, the units participating in the review included experts and representatives from Hainan Shangfa and the Beijing Institute of Space Launch Technology. After rigorous and strict review links such as on-site inspection, field tests, physical acceptance, material review, and report inquiries, the experts of the review team unanimously believed that the technical status of the diaphragm compressors of the helium gas source system of the refueling and gas supply system of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site was clear, the product quality was controlled during the production process, and through factory tests and inspections, the functional and performance indicators of the products met the requirements of the design documents, and the physical supporting facilities were complete. They agreed to the factory release.
Diaphragm compressors are a type of volumetric compressor with a special structure. Through the reciprocating motion of the piston, it periodically changes the volume of the gas chamber to achieve gas compression. To meet the needs of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, the diaphragm compressor, guided by the 15th Institute of the First Academy of Aerospace and produced by Zhong Ding Heng Sheng, can compress helium gas from 5 MPa to 45 MPa. Due to the special requirements of space launches at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site and the particularity of the high-temperature, high-salt, and high-humidity coastal environment, before the production of the diaphragm compressor, Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Co., Ltd. sent experts to understand and inquire about key points such as the overall process plan of the diaphragm compressor, production preparation, and special production processes. They emphasized that the diaphragm compressor is a key equipment in the helium gas source reservoir area of the refueling and gas supply system of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. Anti-corrosion must be given priority consideration, and special requirements were put forward, including increasing sealing guarantee in the overall process plan, controlling excess materials; shortening the production cycle; improving the anti-corrosion process; and considering the high-temperature environment in Hainan for the cooling water system of the membrane compressor.
After more than two months of overtime production, Zhong Ding Heng Sheng successfully completed the production tasks of two sets of diaphragm compressors and met the factory delivery conditions. In the future, Zhong Ding Heng Sheng will strive to contribute more to the development of the aerospace industry.
